Residents are advised of potential noise and minor traffic delays as crews conduct the following works:

  • Mount Keira: Road maintenance and surface repairs are being executed on Kaloona Avenue.

Construction activities are generally permitted on weekdays between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when passing through these zones and to follow all temporary traffic signage.

Safety Alert: Wollongong Harbour Jetty Closure

The community is reminded that the Wollongong Harbour jetty remains closed to the public. Following a safety assessment conducted on 21 March 2026, the structure was identified as having significant integrity concerns. Access is strictly prohibited until further notice while specialist engineers determine the scope of required repairs. Marine users and pedestrians are asked to avoid the cordoned-off areas for their own safety.

Development Applications on Exhibition

Council has officially opened the public exhibition period for several significant development applications. Active as of Tuesday, 24 March, the following proposal is available for community review and submission:

  • DA-2026/136: A proposal for Ribbonwood Road, Farmborough Heights. This application was published on 23 March 2026 and will remain open for formal community feedback until 22 April 2026.

Community members can view the full documentation for this application at Council’s administration building or through the online development portal. Submissions must be received in writing before the closing date to be considered in the assessment process.

Waste and Recycling Reminders

Tuesday bin collections will proceed as scheduled for residents in the relevant zones. As a reminder, bins must be placed on the kerbside before 6:00 am on the morning of collection. To ensure service, residents should maintain a 30cm gap between bins and ensure they are clear of overhanging trees or parked vehicles. The lid of each bin must be fully closed to prevent littering and to comply with health and safety regulations.
